Our Community Reads is a program launched in August 2017 by the Aptos Chapter of the Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries.
The goal is to create a shared experience by having members of the entire Santa Cruz community - from teens to adults -
all reading the same book.
A variety of events relating to themes of the winning book will take place from January to March 2021.

Our book selection criteria: 

• Fiction or non-fiction
• Thought provoking but not overly controversial
• Appeals to both men and women 
• Suitable for high school students 17 and older
• The possibility of an author visit
• Ideally, not more than 350 pages, available in paperback
